Resource Recovery & Concrete Recycling

We turn the concrete, brick and masonry we collect into recycled aggregate, 1-tonne blocks and Knox Blocks – all from our Unanderra yard.

Concrete & Masonry Recycling

We’ve spent more than 25 years collecting waste across the Illawarra, and one thing we’ve always believed is that “rubbish” is a label, not a fact. Concrete, brick, tile and stone are some of the most reusable materials there are. They just need the right processing.

That’s why every load of masonry waste we collect is sorted and sent through our recovery stream rather than dumped at the tip. Better for the environment, better for our local community, and very often better for our customers’ wallets too.

Recycled Concrete & Aggregate

Recovered concrete and masonry, processed into high-quality recycled aggregate in two sizes, plus a finer levelling dust for site prep. Suited to:

  • Road base
  • Drainage material
  • Backfill
  • Construction projects
  • Landscaping preparation

Supporting Sustainable Construction

Supporting sustainable construction

Our masonry recycling stream helps local builders cut their environmental impact on every job. With dedicated masonry-only skip bins, separating concrete, bricks and tiles is as easy as ordering the right bin.

Why do this matter? Materials are processed correctly, recycling outcomes improve, builders demonstrate genuine sustainability, and tip fees stay predictable.

Recycled concrete products

Recovered material doesn’t just get reused, at Tiny Tins, a lot of it gets transformed into something brand new.

Knox Blocks — recycled paper fire blocks

In addition to masonry recycling, we also support the reuse of other waste streams through products like Knox’s recycled paper fire blocks.

Made from compressed recycled paper and cardboard, these fire blocks provide a clean, efficient and eco-friendly alternative to traditional fire starters.

They are:

  • Made from recycled materials
  • Easy to use and long-burning
  • A great way to repurpose paper waste that might otherwise end up in landfill

It’s another example of how waste can be reimagined into something practical and valuable.

Reducing Landfill, Building the Future

Every truckload of recovered material is a truckload that doesn’t end up in landfill. As we grow, we’re investing in smarter recovery processes and working towards our future recycling centre, letting us process more material and play a bigger role in waste education across Wollongong, Illawarra, Shellharbour and Kiama.
