Preschool Recycling

Free pre-school visits talking about the importance of recycling.

At Tiny Tins, we’re passionate about helping the next generation understand how to care for the environment in a fun, simple, and hands-on way. Our free preschool sustainability program now centres around our small plastics recycling initiative, teaching children how everyday items like bottle caps and lids can be kept out of landfill and turned into something new.

We start with a short, child-friendly chat about why we sort our waste and how we can all reduce, reuse and recycle in our daily lives. From there, the children dive into story time with our self-published book Recycle It, which follows the journey of small plastics from collection through to being transformed into new products like pens and plant pots.

To bring it all to life, we finish with an interactive “sort the rubbish” game where each child gets involved, learning what goes where in a fun and memorable way.

Our sessions run for approximately 30 minutes and are designed to be engaging, educational and easy for young minds to understand. Centres can also take part in our small plastics collection program, helping children see first-hand how their efforts make a real difference.

For an extra special experience, centres can also request a visit from one of our garbage trucks at the same time, giving the children a real-life look at how waste is collected and bringing plenty of excitement to the day!
